Just have to bring piston to TDC so all valves are closed and inflate with compressed air through spark plug hole. Then the spring can be compressed from the top and the seals swapped out. You might consider taking the heads off and having them gone thru and pressure checked when completed (my recommendation) to ensure all is well, but the seals can def be replaced DIY and without machine shop intervention. Depending on mileage on the heads, this would also be preferable to determine wear on the valve guides as well, which can't be done with the heads in place.
