I ended up with my TT 5spd front half (good carrier bearing), an NA 5spd front half (with a shot carrier bearing), and NA 5spd back half. Both TT halves are larger than the NA. We know that the NA has a different mounting to the diff. It also has a smaller mount between the 2 halves. Luckily the splines on the driveshaft where the mating connector goes on the end are the same, so the ends are interchangeable. I took the NA mating part off the NA front half I had and put it on my TT front half. Now I have 2 halves that will mate up, and its mounted up under my car. What a headache.
