I'd like to get some confirmation on this. Long story short, I sold my wrecked 5Spd TT to a guy and am putting it's TT Engine/5spd Tranny in an NA shell I bought. Buyer had a 5psd convertible he was parting out, so we swapped back halves of the driveshaft, he got my TT back half for the TT diff, and I took his NA back half. I went to mount my TT 5spd front half to the NA 5spd back half last night, and they were very different. The TT 5spd front half is much thicker, and as such the middle mount is larger than my supposed NA 5spd back half. The NA back half supposedly from a Vert 5spd will mate to the diff, but not to the front half. Local Z shop told me the back half was from an auto, because it was smaller, but my buyer claims it was from his 5spd Vert. Please correct me if I'm wrong, here's my understanding of the driveshaft combos: 5spd front half >> TT or NA 5spd back half Auto front half >> TT or NA Auto back half 2+2 used the same front halves above >> longer NA back half for 5spd or Auto Are verts special? Any reason it would have a smaller back half? I've done plenty of searching and not finding any definitive resources.
