that way you will know what you have when your finished and get exactly what you want. You will not know what you are getting with a used engine and that is a gamble I would not want to take. Research for a good machine shop that is capable of a quality build and use quality parts. The first machine shop I used screwed me over so it cost me over double to get my current build. Also I wish I would have went all out on my first build to save a lot of time and money. After I got my second rebuild complete and the engine broke in I ended up pulling the engine again to upgrade my turbos. Overall it has been an enjoyable experience except for the shady machine shop. I also have the satisfaction that I performed all of the work and know everything about all of the mods. Good luck going forward
