Cats you'll need for sure. Hi-flows generally won't pass though you may get away with it by retarding the timing. Precats are turbo car only and may have been replaced with downpipes. You can probably get away with that if they're not too shiny since the Z is pretty low and they're hard to spot with a mirror. With so many more NA cars, the tech may not even know what precats look like. Missing AIV tubes are a dead giveaway, but AIV was no longer used starting in '93, so you might get lucky. EGR is very difficult to see. A lot of testers don't even look. I've heard San Diego is pretty strict. I'd drive out to L.A. or even inland to Imperial Valley to get the smog check.
