When you're watching Nissan Datascan, it has an indicator for the A/C relay, but not the button. if the control unit decides something is wrong, it will light up and all but it won't actually flip the compressor relay. The most common cause for this is the pressure switch on the receiver/drier. If you're getting nice cold air when you manually engage the compressor, the switch is probably bad. If it's not blowing cold, or is really not cooling sufficiently, it probably just needs a recharge as that switch will prevent the compressor from engaging when the charge is low. You can also try shorting out the connector on the switch (with the A/C turned on) and see if it engages the compressor to confirm that this is the problem.
