the fact that the car is not cranking is completely not related. A car motor cranks mechanically by way of the starter, so if its dead in the water then you could have several issues ( bad starter, bad starter solenoid, bad ignition switch, bad relay, faulty wires leading to any of those ) so i would suggest you look up the wiring diagram for the ignition system and probe around with a multimeter and make sure youre getting volts where they should be. there have plenty of instances where people had no cranks from a bad starter relays or faulty starters, so look through the forum and read up!
