Hi, Another follow up to my stubborn hood squeak problem: it's back. Proper height for bump stops solved the issue for awhile but it came back with a vengeance about a week after the last post got locked. I reset the bump stops back at stock height. The hood still squeaked. I have the latch and hinges soaked in silicon lubricant (white grease). The hood still squeaked. I removed the silicon lubricant and applied a generous amount of WD-40 in the passenger side hinge area. The hood stopped squeaking now for a week. I recall another poster that said this was the only thing that solved his problem. I guess I'm one of those guys now. too. What I think is going on here: Before I got the car, the front had been hit. I have a feeling that this tweaked the hood, forever misshaping it and causing extra stress to the hinge. Only certain lubricants seem to penetrate well enough to temporarily relieve the problem. A new hood might solve the issue. Of course, I could be wrong. I'm no mechanic. Thanks for reading and hope it helps others. SSF
