Message	also mean the signal is being interrupted.. check the connectors down near the power steering pot (see FSM for exact location). there could be corrosion causing an issue. Also it does sound like you have issues on the dash clocks as the rev counter shouldn't be affected. you could also do with taking them out and checking the connectors and the board and screws that hold it on.. these old girls are quite demanding and attention seeking.. :) best of luck..
