My drivers side VTC was leaking after my engine rebuild, so I figured I would give it a shot. Worst thing that could happen is that I still have to pull the plenum. Overall, the work should take about 1-1.5 hours plus waiting an hour for RTV to set before tightening down fully and putting everything back together. Basically, I removed the balance tube and IACV hose, connectors for: CP#6, VTC, 2 IACV Connectors and used a draw tie to pull the harness up and out of the way towards the windshield wiper. Don't know if it mattered, but loosened the end screws for the valve cover too. Used a screwdriver to coax the VTC to move. Cleaned up VTC really good. Practiced sliding it around everything with minimal contact to avoid getting RTV on everything a bunch of times. Applied RTV, slipped right into the hole perfectly, made it hand tight. Came back in an hour, tightened everything down. Its been good for idling and a quick drive so far. Will be keeping an eye on it to make sure it holds.
