that difficult and probably went quicker because the only person that I could argue with about procedure, was me. The last part to go on before the install was my SpecialityZ flywheel and sport clutch.
Raised engine to proper level and slowly moved it into place.
Since I didn't have anyone to watch for snags as I lowered the engine, I draped a painters drop cloth over all the wires. A blanket would have been too "thick".
The most important piece of equipment was this "vice grip hoist control". To be able to just barely turn the lever a eighth of an inch or so to slowly start lowering the engine was important.
There was enough hood clearance to get the engine into the bay before I started to lower it. I did have to take off the turbo intake tubes. Maybe extra hands could have guided those into place as I lowered the engine, but I didn't have any extra hands, so I took them off.
Also, I realized that the air conditioner compressor needed to be down inside the engine bay, before the engine got down too far. A few starts and stops and all was good.
As I slowly lowered the engine, I pushed the hoist back...lower a bit...push a bit.. Crawled under to check my progress focusing on the motor mount...raise a bit...lower a bit...push a little.
Finally the passenger side mount "found the hole" and I put the nut on the stud, just a few threads so it wouldn't come back out. Then, checked the drivers side motor mount to see what I needed to do to make that happen. Raised a little, pushed a little...pop, it's in !In review: I pulled it by myself...put it in by myself. It can be done and it wasn't that hard. Next...the "Tranny Stab". I pulled that by myself with the help of a transmission jack and hope to put it in by myself as well. I'll let you know how that goes in the next few weeks. Thanks TT.NET for your support. I would never have attempted this if I didn't have you guys bolstering my confidence.
