Message	maybe the coil pack is wearing,or rusty.misfiring causes the fuel in the cylinder to be expelled ,so you may smell fuel,also when the engine is hot and after the unused fuel escapes it will burn at the level of the exhaust and create a backfire.try this solution before you play around with the injectors, installing new ones will cost you!
