my car has been running rough and idling poorly for a while now. however, after noticing that my idle was a bit too high, i lowered it with the adjusting screw and my car instantly ran much better. but then i had problems with rpms dropping way too low after letting go of the gas to switch gears. i tried the whole spraying wd-40 into the hose that attached the unit to clean and lubricate but that didnt help much. then i decided to just take the whole unit off and clean it to make sure nothing was clogged or sticking. i found this great post to help me out: [ http://twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=920429&forum=technical&dtSearch=6 ] ok so now my problem is that my iaa unit is slightly different than the one in the post. im pretty sure its because i have an older model. so does anyone know how to take the black thing, the spring, and the brass cylinder off of the older iacv unit? cause it seems that in the write-up, they just fall out on their own from '94 model. but on mine they're just stuck there. or is there a different way to thoroughly clean the kind of unit i have? thanks in advance
