Subject	Knocking sound in my engine?

Message	Recently when I started up my car I noticed a fairly loud knocking sound coming from somewhere in the engine bay. I'm not too sure what it was, but once the car was driven any distance/warmed up, the knocking sound went away? What may be the cause of this? (1990 TT)
