:I post a while back regarding this idling issue: :[ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/1100547/Weird-Idling-Issue.html ] :I haven't had much time to do some further diagnostics since, but when I went to try a few things yesterday I noticed that my Optima Red Top is dead. I think this battery has finally bit the dust as it has been acting up for the last year. :My question is, is it possible that a bad battery has been causing my idling issue? My guess is that it can't hold much of a charge, and probably barely enough to start the car. Now, my theory is that the alternator uses a bit of power from the battery to power the field to generate more electricity. However, if the battery can't power the field very well, then the alternator can't deliver power very well either. At idle, since the alternator isn't spinning that fast, it causes more of a problem. :Does my thinking make sense?No... if the alternator is good, the car will idle and run fine even if the battery is toast. What injectors are you running?
