| My Z runs like a champ but there are two fuel system issues that have me worried and they need to be fixed before I drive to Florida in a week: Issue 1: I was driving my Z around town and on the interstate for a couple of hours on a pretty hot day and I noticed that when I came to a stop, I could smell fuel vapors really bad. I immediately pulled over and opened the hood and inspected all fuel hoses and clamps and everything was kosher. I know my lines and clamps are not the problem because I just did a plenum pull and replaced all fuel hoses and clamps with new ones. Anyway, I didn't smell anything under the hood, just when I stuck my head underneath the car. Now it was pretty hot outside, somewhere around 85 to 90, and this past winter I had to peel the rusted heat shields off my exhaust mid pipes so I was wondering if the combination of excess exhaust heat and ambient temperature could cause the gas tank to get hot and cause fuel vapors to build up in the charcoal canister. I've also noticed that the smell is starting to smell somewhat like brake cleaner if the car is sitting outside in the sun for some reason. I have been contemplating doing the CC delete but I don't want to if I don't have to. Any ideas? Issue 2: Similar situation but this happens no matter what temperature it gets outside. I can drive my Z around for an hour or so with no problems and then if I turn off and start the car up and it sounds like the pump is running at high pressure for a minute or two then gets quiet. However, if I drive the car around it starts buzzing again but its acting like its increasing pressure depending on engine load, not throttle position. Could it be a faulty pump or fuel pump controller? Is this common for a Z with only 100k miles?
