Message Man! what a success...

after months of running 5 cylinders... diagnosing the problem by checking the ptu, the ignition coils, and the resistance accross each injector i pinpointed that injector 4 (i believe its 4 -the one below the fuel regulator drivers side) was the culprit so i ordered a replacement.

so i went out and bought a tungsten carbide bit for 17 bucks at home depot (canada). I removed the fuel lines (and replaced them) and started dremaling at the plenum.

after enough metal was taken off i used vice grip pliers looking like this:
[img src="http://www.jkttools.com/images/vice-grip-pliers.jpg]

to clamp down on the top of the injector. then I used a flat head screwdriver to put it through the gap between the teeth of the vice grip and the injector and used that as additional leverage. as i pulled up on the vice grip while wiggling my friend added additional force by the leverage of from the screwdriver. It worked but i was literally standing on top of the plenum pulling and screaming "EXCALIBUR!"

Putting the new injector was difficult actually. after lubing the o-rings with engine oil i put the new injector in but i had to push the injector all the way in. I was trying to hear a distinct pop sound to ensure a snug fit as i found from other sources before beginning the project but it didnt actually do that. It just seemed like it was getting squeezed in slowly.... but its in and the retainer is clamped down.

So then just as i start the car. The battery seemed disconnected cause it didnt start which i meant to work on the battery connection anyway cause that was a reoccuring problem so i went to lordco and bought some battery clamps cause my battery wasnt actually clamped down when i got the car it didnt even have it and the passenger cowl was pretty much destroyed by the way. Negative post was all rusted and wire was flaying off so i decided to redo it right then and there. tried to install the battery clamps but the posts are too long (hood closes too low!) and its impossible to cut or else it will mess up the threads of the rods for the clamp what a waste of 20 bucks. managed to get the negative terminal serviced.

all hooked up ready to go... i start her up... still really rough... (OH GOD PLEASE NO! im thinking). I do the standard power test on cylinder 4 idle rpm has no effect.

Absolutely confused I thought i did everything in a logical manner to solve this problem to find myself depressed and utterly confused.

Then the next day i open the hood up and start the car... I hear a hissing air leaking noise... i check all the vacuum lines from both fuel regulators and the are connected...then i noticed the battery was kind of a bit higher... HMM i lift it up to find some vacuum hose lodged underneath it disconnecting it from this joint where this leak was happening. I hooked it back up the only way it could and then cylinder 4 started firing...

now my question is HOW THE HELL?

Since my engine is tight spaced i dont even know where this line leads to it just goes back somewhere into the darkness of the engine bay lol...
