I had weird idle issues in the past that have never been resolved. Though they haven't been resolved it was never this bad. I see you have been keeping up with my posts since you know about the compression? Well if so, you know that I have two separate issues, one is the cold start hunting idle and the other is the vacuum problem. I'm pretty sure they're unrelated, but some how coincidentally happened at the same time. I think the cold start hunting issue might have to do with fuel rail adapters for the injectors...like it's somehow losing pressure when the car isn't running, which causes the engine to hunt for idle temporarily. This would also explain hard starts which makes the car have to crank for a few seconds before it does. As far as the iacv, I've replaced it with a used one to try and fix the a random rpm at idle problem...so I'm pretty sure it's in good condition...I'm going to test the resistance tomorrow. I'm thinking the PCVs would only be a suspect if the dipstick tube popped out during hard stops...unfortunately it doesn't.
