the PTU (Power Transistor Unit) gets a signal from the computer telling the coil when to fire. The early style PTUs were recalled because of premature failure do to heat, they have aluminum tops, looks like this. [ http://dta-motorsport.com/used/ptu.jpg ]And the newer style looks like this. [ http://www.z32photoguide.com/ptu.html ] the CAS (Crank Angle Sensor) tells the computer where the Crankshaft is so that it knows what part of the engine cycle is going on. seen here. [ http://www.z32photoguide.com/images/3sensorloc.jpg ] I would check your connections at both the PTU and CAS... and to be honest you seem to be having the same problem I am having, but those where the things everyone has said to check first.
*82 Degrees, sun is shining, T-tops are off, windows are down, cruising down the highway at 80 MPH, and the only music I can here is coming from my exhaust... this is what owning a Z32 is all about.* |
