I put a new alternator in and after I started the car the temp gauge stayed at dead cold for a long time. then it started climbing to normal and then on up and up to just under very hot top of gauge. Slowed down and the temp dropped a bit. turned engine off and waited a few minutes and the temp gauge read much cooler than it would take for the engine to cool.. but I still am thinking the engine is over heating so I take it home. I go and replace both temp sensors on the goose neck and I'm still having temp gauge problems. I still believe the gauge is malfunctioning but it is unnerving that it is pegged on HOT. Any ideas how to fix? Thanks.
