Or at least that's how I thought I removed it originally. I have one long bolt, which I thought attached to the bottom, and I thought the stud I took a picture of was attached to the top. Well if that's the case, and this stud does in fact go on the bottom, I have no clue how the long bolt would attach the top of the heat shield to the transmission. The hole I saw at the top was tiny, and appeared to be blocked off (the broken stud?). I have an automatic transmission though, and my rear main seal is leaking. I really wanted to do a 5-speed swap this summer, and this would be the perfect time, but the money isn't there yet.
