Subject	Help Please: Starter Installation

Message	I'm angry and REALLY annoyed right now. I removed the starter without any problems to clean, and tonight, I was going to install it back on. However, obviously I had to run into a problem. I remember, there was one 14mm bolt on top, and one 14mm bolt on the bottom. I also remember clearly that the bolt on top was attached to a long stud. My problem is, the stud somehow fell off, and I have no clue from where, or how to attach the starter back on (since the stud fell off). I sat there literally for 1 hour working out every possible scenario, and came to the conclusion that this stud was supposed to be attached to the transmission, and sheared off. Please, PLEASE tell me I'm wrong. Any help would be enormously appreciated, and here are some pictures of the stud I'm speaking of for clarification:
