Message I just pulled my PTU out trying to diagnose one dead cylinder

Problem:
dead cylinder
Other:
smell of gas, rough idle

Steps so far:
-did balance test and isolated dead cylinder.
-checked resistance of coil pack on dead cylinder -PASS
-removed PTU out of car to do continuity test as prescribed by manual: [ http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/s.manual/efec/179.gif ]
-Did continuity test... FAIL (shows continuity on top row of test chart however passes the other tests showing no continuity when i changed polarity at the bottom row)

CONCERNS: My PTU labelling scheme is different instead of ABCDEFG and 123456 I have 123G456 and E1,E2,E3,E4,E5,E6 respectively... So is test even valid.

Current work around
-unplugged injector plug.
-driving below 3500rpm to avoid boost.
