Basically I have a rebuilt engine I have hardly driven on, but had it tuned and running for a while. I put in a brand new pickup and hammered out the pan perfect. Then on install, the very front of the pan got a slight dent but is not really near the pickup but close (right on the rounded 90 degree bend where the face and bottom of the pan join). Anyway with the new OEM oil sensor it reads close to 90 on cold start, idles at 60ish varying at speeds. The lifters tick but only around start up... then goes totally quiet once warm. Is this due to a dented pan or because the lifters need to "pump up because they're old." How is my oil pressure? I may try the welded bolt pan pull trick, but don't want to mess with it if not necessary... Should I be worried, I have OCD so I have a hard time with this one.
