Codes show up as a flashing check engine light (CEL). If all is well with what the computer (ECU) monitors the code will be 55 - five long flashes followed by five short flashes. The link above provides code numbers that the ECU has available.

The fuel damper and the FPR (fuel pressure regulator) are in the fuel line supply to the fuel injectors. The damper and FPR should be visable one is closer to the passanger side near the balance tube at the rear of the engine and the other closer to the driver side. First smell for fuel oder there should be none unless there are leaks. These devices are vacuum controlled and can be checked for a leaking diaphram by applying mouth suction via a longer piece of hose that you can attach to the vacuum port on each device and see if diaphram will hold vacuum by placing the tip of your tounge on hose hole after applying vacuum. If good you will see that after say 20 seconds and you release the vacuum you will hear a noticable closure noise of the diaphram. If you want to be more sophisticated you can purchase a vacuum device testor and determine if the diaphrams can hold 25" Hg for a period of time without the needle moving.

The tank of gas you received could have clogged your fuel filter or worse the injector screens.

Was the car running fine before this tank of gas?
