Message Over 10 years ago my 90 NA started the same small oil drip from between the engine and the tranny. I asked the same question you have, and I got an amazing answer.......change your PCV valves (the car has 2 of them).

The logic behind it was that the PCV valves were clogged and sticking, allowing the engine crankcase pressure to build up and push oil out of the rear main seal. It would then leak down the back of the engine block, down to the bottom of the bell housing, without getting on the flywheel or the clutch plate.

As I recall, a trip to the dealership, $38 and maybe an hour of my time later, and the leak has never returned to this day. Good Luck!
