After you install the bar, you need to place the panels back, and they need to slip over the bar, hence the opening from the bottom to where it stops "entering" the panel. You can do what I did for a slightly stealthier look and simply dremel a line to where the bar will actually sit, and that's where you actually cut a hole for the strut bar. Then, you bend the panel, slip it over the bar, and it'll fit exactly where you made you hole opening. It will require some finesse and planning/measurements, and it's obviously WAY easier to do it with large gaping holes like everyone else, but it's visually appealing and superior to do it this way. Call me if you need some clarification.btw, the Powertrix 1-pc bar is superior to the Stillen. It's lighter, less intrusive, and available in a stealth black design. The Stillen bar is just so huge, always looked ugly to me, especially with those holes.
