My HICAS light comes on when I first start my car, 1990 TT, and usually goes off around when the car warms up. I ran the HICAS diagnostic as instructed from the write up in the faq but the rear wheels do not turn and I'm not sure if I'm getting a code or not. Here's what happens: I start the engine, turn the steering wheel back and forth, pump the brakes and the HICAS light comes on. At this point I'm assuming I'm in the diagnostic mode. So I turn the steering wheel back and forth slowly, past 20 degrees, and the rear wheels don't turn. The HICAS light will flash slowly but with no breaks so I don't think it's giving me a code at this point. I slowly drive the car forward 20 ft or so, under 9 mph, and then the HICAS light starts flashing very fast but again with no breaks. Is this a code? It doesn't stop flashing fast until I shut off the engine. I repeated this a few times with the same results. Any help would be great!
