Anything like lose debris, dust, etc in the intake plenum or piping to the plenum can and will get in to your engine.

Your oil filter is not going to fix this - and changing your oil is not going to flush this out. It's not in your oil, it's in the intake piping and plenum - a place where debris and oil shouldn't be unless you've got problems. :-)

If you have loose debris in this area, you need to clean it all out before you run the engine. Metal debris can definitely get in to the combustion chamber and score your cylinders. This will cause bad things such as oil consumption, low compression, and basically destroy your short block.

If you wanted your cylinders to be scored and destroyed in this fashion, and then have crazy oil consumption, you could just buy a Sentra...
