Message a rebuild on the Z32 is a technical job that not many are familiar with. I would not have a rebuild in NM because it is too far away for physical in thenmechanics face coordination.
Consider shipping the car to Alabama and look for a reputible rebuilder there. One way shipping many only be 1200 but get some estimates.

In fact a replacement engine might be a better way to go especially sisnce the extent of damage to the present one is not known. I would do serious searching on this site for a Z32 mechanic close to you or to have the car shipped to. There are several reputable guys on this site.

You have placed yourself in a difficult corner with buying a car to far away to properly check it out. And the seller has no responsibility here. Traveling at 80 mph for 16 hrs is asking alot from a car you have no experience with from past maintenance records standpoint. Like do you know when the timing belt was serviced?

Ask this site as many questions as you like but be prepared for spending $$$$ with TT.

Good luck
