Message Hi guys, so here is the latest.

Well driving the z today a new problem arose. The clutch would randomly get hard to push in and each time it was hard to push in I could hear a gasp of air coming from under neath the dash. I suspected the clutch booster was going out and this is what I found when I returned home:

So obviously my clutch booster has gone bad. But I was wondering since it looks like it has been leaking for some time now...would this have any effect on my ability to smoothly engage the clutch? Could this be the reason I am unable to avoid the clunk upon take off? I doubt this is related but can hope.

Anyone know how hard it is to replace? How about converting to the non-turbo setup without the booster...good idea or bad?

Anyways, I threw the z up on jack stands and had my wife work the clutch so I could capture a video of the differential and transmission. Maybe someone can see something I am missing. From what I can tell the clunk is definitely not from a bad transmission mount or differential bushings. Those are all new and I don't see either of them torquing over well engaging the clutch.

Keep in mind, this is with no load. It is even worse when on the ground. In the video you can see the exhaust moving but I assure you the exhaust is not hitting anything.

Here's another showing the transmission and slave cylinder engagement.

Lastly, I have a non-turbo z with roughly 150,000 miles on it. It is in very good shape. It has never been drag raced and has never had any clutch in it harsher then the rps sport street clutch. I am seriously considering swapping in the whole transmission and subframe/diff to see if the clunk goes away. Now, this would only make a difference if the non-turbo stuff is in good/better shape.
Good idea or bad?
