I've been battling an oil leak that is coming from my passenger side and have pinned it down to the camshaft wobbling, I purchased a new camshaft sprocket. When I removed it, I noticed the actual camshaft has a busted pin! Please see my picture. When the VTC spring is in the sprocket it is tough to turn, but when the spring is out, the sprocket spins freely without turning the camshaft. This doesn't seem right to me at all. My second problem is since removing the plenum/timing belt to "fix" a different problem, my intake is very loud and it doesn't idol correctly. I'm wondering if maybe becuase that pin is busted the camshaft doesn't even turn at all and that is what causes my loud intake? I would also like to confirm that I do need a new camshaft. My engine was at TDC before the the timing belt was removed.
