| There is very little point in doing what you are trying to do here. I'm guessing your cam seals were leaking, and that you have replaced them??? IMO, running your car with zero coolant would be foolish in this ... actually any ... situation. You can not run your car for very long with out coolant. The block and heads would get extremely hot in short order. Your test would prove nothing, because the leak through a cam seal leak isn't going to show up quickly enough even if it were to still be leaking. Put the car back together properly, presume you have fixed it properly, and don't risk running and ruining your engine for the sake of a little bit of work time. So, I'd put it back together WITH the covers on...
