Message I figured I better add these pictures of the internal parts of the lower part of the injector to help complete the total makeup of the injector parts.

When I took the lower part of the injector apart I broke the end of the pintle off. It's the broken pintle head in the picture. It appears that all of these parts are placed into the lower injector from the bottom and then the body is crimped closed at the lower area of the body where the injector nozzle protrudes.

Here is a picture of the pintle guide with the pintle still inside and the retainer still hanging on. I removed the O-ring for the rest of the pictures below.

A picture of the pintle guide, the retainer and the pintle.I placed the broken head of the pintle next to the pintle to show how it would look if it were still attached. The notches on each side of the end of the pintle guide and the small notch cut out of the retainer are not normally there. They were made when I hit the parts with my dremel while I was cutting the injector open.

Here are the same parts but with the collar which the spring sits in. In my write-up I had said that the pintle assembly was held together with a rivet process. As you can see, actually there is nothing holding the pintle assembly together other than how all the parts are assembled as a unit. The collar is pressed onto the head of the pintle but is not used to hold the assembly together. After breaking the pintle head I was able to remove the head from the collar using a straight punch.

Another view of the parts as they sit in the lower injector body. Although the collar diameter appears to be larger than the diameter of the hole where the pintle head would sit if it were still attached, it is actually small enough to slide up and down through that hole while attached to the head of the pintle.

That's about it!
