| You should totally ignore my first post. As I hang my head in shame and amazement I could write something so silly. Because pretty much nothing in it is correct! Save for spelling. It's like I was stoned and confusing how automatics work with how manuals work and that's what happens when you get senile and easily confused. So in a 5 speed, if the car is in gear (any gear) you should be able to turn the crank and the rear wheels will spin. If the car is neutral, you can still spin the crank just the wheels don't move because the clutch is no longer engaged. In an automatic, you should be able to turn the crank freely no matter what is happening with the shift selector. As you are only turning the torque converter and you could never turn it fast enough manually to actually matter. So, since you can't, your car has internal problems that are preventing the crank from rotating properly. When you remove the oil pan, I'm sure it will become obvious.
