Subject	Not an idler or P/S seizure after all?

Message	Well. It wasn't too hard to remove the radiator and get the AUX belts off. While the idler was pretty rusty it still turned, as did the p/s pump. I tried turning the crankshaft (in park) and it's not moving. According to the driver, this "stopping dead in it's tracks" was under mild acceleration, a 2-3 second whine, and a rev increase up to 4000 rpms. Should I next drop the oil pan and expect the worst? Is it common for 80,00 mile non TT do throw a rod?
