Message OK so this time the topic of the conversation is the Oil galley
plugs, these are the OEM plugs that are press fit and look like
a bullet. The question is, do they require sealant prior of
pressing them in?

I recently pulled my motor because of all the new core/freeze
plugs that were installed are leaking. Now after removing the
plugs and installing new ones with sealant applied, I realized
that the Oil galley plugs were installed without any sealant
also.

Are the oil galley plugs prone to leaking without any sealant
also? They were pressed in flush with the block, and from the
"looks" of it they are not leaking, but I am afraid after I switch
over to synthetic oil they will start leaking.

I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!" (Having a conversation about hail damage) - BradZ (FL) on March 25, 2005 at 9:56 PM

Tell your friend that you could take a dump, light it on fire and that would be hotter shit than his car. Probes suck, that's just all there is to it. - 300ZXpert (someday) on April 04, 2005 at 11:35 PM
