It's simple really. If your engine TP exceeds the last column of your maps, the ecu is going to use the last column no matter what TP your engine is reaching. This feature can be used as a safety guard to limit "overboosting". That is why Ash told you to set your maps slightly under your engines peak TP. If you have datalogging capabilities your logs will tell you what your max engine TP is and you can set your maps accordingly.
