Message	"a", if not "the", source of your oil leak problem. Welding the VTC? I can't say I'd recommend doing that for a multitude of reasons: 1) Ghetto 2) No gaurantee it will work (contaminated welds from oil) 3) if it doesn't work, they are 100% junk e.g. no good as cores for BDE rebuilds. 4) the heat will kill the internal VTC spring 5) Ghetto! You have three choices, take a chance on another set of used VTC gears, buy new Nissan replacements or do a search for rebuilt BDE VTC sprockets. Sorry all, I'm trying not to turn this into a classified ad.
