Subject	Strange whine.. help me diagnose it!

Message	Ok so I've been hearing a subtle whine for a while now in my 95TT. I cant really locate the source, seems to come from the middle of the car, not the engine bay.. cant narrow it down. Here are the details. * I started noticing the whine only when the car was in motion. In park or neutral, I could rev the motor and no whine at all. The whine seemed to be motion dependent, not RPM or boost dependent. * The whine went up and down in pitch as my speed changed when my car was an automatic. * I did an auto to 5speed swap and the whine persisted. * I went from a 1-piece auto DS to a stock 2-piece DS after the swap - no change in the whine. * I replaced the fluid in my diff - no change. * New tires, no change. Any thoughts?
