| The leaks that are outside of the intake shouldn't cause this problem. That intercooler would be a boost leak, but really shouldn't matter in your idle state when the butterflies are closed. (I am reasonably sure...hahah) But if the butterflies are closed, inside is the vacuum in the intake and air is somehow getting inside there from another place. The air coming from your intercooler should essentially be blocked by the butterfly. Even if you left the intercooler hose right off, I don't think it would cause this problem. Your car would probably idle fine (in a normal working car) and you simply would be unable to build boost. Air flow pro feel free to help us out here. :-)
