| I wrote a long ass response. Too long. Short version: Pull the motor. Take the heads off. Evaluate the condition of the valves. That's the long and short of it - if moving lifters does nothing, and given your cam positioning problem with the broken dowel and the fact it was running like that, and 5 psi in a hole, I'm reasonably sure your valves are bent. I wouldn't worry at all about your manually turning the cam and driving the valve in to the piston. The real damage was done before that, so it's likely irrelevant at this point.
