| Yeah, I'd say that could definitely be the problem - or it is at the very least a good possibility. The car I was working on that had this problem...I believe the owner had it sitting for at least that long and maybe even longer. (1.5-2 years) So, especially if they were just sitting around. Not in oil. Or if they had been taken apart, etc. At least you know what you need to do now. You need to verify the timing belt. If it is right, you could just tear it down in the car. I think I'd just swap the lifters from hole #1 and #2. Since there is a large difference between the compressions in those holes. 25 versus 100. If it changes around so that #1 now has 100 and #2 now has 25, well, I think that's enough confirmation that it is your lifters and then I would replace all of them. If it changes absolutely nothing - well, then I'm afraid your timing belt was probably not set properly and you bent valves. I think it is a very good possibility that if you feel the timing belt was always set properly, and it is set properly when you inspect here right away - that your lifters are the culprits. But, now you just need to prove it. So you can get on with fixing the Z. Good luck. Let us know the results of your timing belt inspection...
