So i have this oil leak on my newly built engine. The leak doesnt show up till the engine is rev'd to about 3k.
At first we thought it was the cam gears. That doesnt seem to be the case.
We took the cam covers off, put dye in the oil, and there seemed to be oil around the pasenger side of teh oil pump, with a stream of oil running up behind the cover. I pulled the plenum and it's clear under the valve covers.
The engine 40 miles on it, and in the time, oil got on the fan and sprayed the hood. Long story, but the car had no front bumper or splashs at the time. I still claim it's the oil pump, but my engine guy is saying that can't be due to the stream of oil he saw down the passenger side block.
