Message I think you are asking if a ticking lifter prematurely wears down other related valve train parts.

If so..

The answer is yes but very very very slowly. I can't recall anyone ever rocking a bad lifter to the point of any chance of failure resulting in anything major. Mostly the chatter of the lifter will just get more and more annoying.

A lot of Z32 owners run with ticking lifters for upwards of a 100,000 miles. It's not recommended, of course.
