I'd like to hear from someone who has successfully changed the knock sensor to it's stock location by removing the transmission(without removing the engine), instead of removing the intake manifold. What tools did you use? How hard is it to get to the knock sensor once the transmission is out of the way, with the engine still installed? Can a ratchet wrench with a short socket fit in the space under the intake manifold where the knock sensor is located or do I have to use another tool?
Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to relocate it since I'm already removing the transmission and I don't want to spend $150+ on 2 new manifold gaskets. I can use that money for other sensors that need replacing.
Thanks!!!
