| the heat does this by opening/closing a valve which adjusts the amount of coolant that circulates thru the heater core. The valve is mounted just outside of the heater core (up and to the right) of the gas pedal. Valve is on top of one of the metal plumbing lines that go into the heater core. Valve connects to the actuator motor by a short length of stiff wire. Altho the area is tight to work in - you should be able to reach inside there and manually open the valve a bit to get some heat. Not a perfect solution but a workaround.... FYI2 -- The heater box/core is a big pain in the ass to pull out. It's not really all that hard -- just takes a lot of time to pull the entire dash apart to access it. It takes about 6 hours with a whole lot of parts, bolts, etc... 2nd on the advice above -- if you pull it, I'd replace all the heater box actuator motors OR just get a whole new heater box from a parts car (but do replace the heater core with a brand new one).
