So I've finally had it with my boost leaks. I've yanked both sides of the entire intake systems piping. I found on the passenger side intake tube (with the accordion flex joint, inlet to turbo) that a nipple was completely open, with a piece of tubing left on it that had obviously been cut. Its been blowing air for god knows how long. In my 91 mechanics manual, that nipple is listed on page EF & EC-12 as "Right side wastegate valve control solenoid valve to suction pipe". The diagram shows that the line/tube connected to it goes up to the wastegate. I am concerned as to why this was cut and if it needs to be capped or a vacuum/boost line run from it to the wastegate. HOWEVER I have a "Trust" brand manual boost controller that was hooked up by the previous owner. I am not clear as to how this has changed the entire vacuum layout, so I'm wondering if this nipple is no longer needed and I can just cap it off? Thanks for any info, at least I have a manual and I'm trying, right? lol.
