Message	Your pinion and ring gears are binding. That is what is causing the lockup when you stop. The cause could be bad bearings, whether pinion or carrier bearings. From your description, I don't think it's the gears. The way to fix it is to rebuild it. You may be able to salvage the ring and pinion, but the bearings will need to be replaced.
