| I've been putting off posting this message for a while hoping that i would solve the problem myself and not have lay my hands down for help. The car: 1996 300zx NA Stock The issue: irradic idle. wants to sit at 1500rpm severe hesitation under 3000rpm surges in power between 2200rpm and 3000rpm The duration: It started a few months ago and only seemed to happen when i had a passenger. At this time it was only a small surge of hesitation and then gone. Its progressively gotten worse. Most days it hesitates, sometimes it surges and hesitates, somedays the car is just fine. Irradic idle has just started happening. At first it was only once sitting at a light after full warmup. I rev'd to 2k and let off and it settled back down. Now, ~40% of the time it sits at 1.5krpm. All of the above can happen alltogether on the same drive or 2 or 1 or none. Its totally random...however its becomming more frequent and more "normal" The Maintenance: (*=Done in hopes that it was causing the problem) *Seafoamed 1k miles ago *New Air filters 1k miles ago *New OEM NGK plugs 1k miles ago New Fuel Filter 8k miles ago 60k kit 35k miles ago *Injectors OHM in range. *Code 55 --- no problems *MAF is good (as best i can tell) I'm at a loss. I've done alot of searches on various forums and i just cant put the finger on it. I dont want to start replacing everything with a connector on it on a hunch because i dont intend to have the n/a motor for too much longer. The closest thing i've come to finding a culprit is the Throttle Positioning sensor/switch. I'm leaning towards replacing it; i'd just like some more reassurance first. I cant find anyone who's had the problem one day, and then it not be there the next. The similar issues with faulty TPS's seem to be a complete failure. I appreciate any help, Marshall
